Classes
Broadway Performing Arts Studios (B-PAS) offers students ages 3 – senior citizen a solid foundation in the performing arts. This comprehensive, nine month, semester-based program provides classes in all disciplines, from the beginner to the college-bound student, taught by Broadway veterans and local professional performers and instructors.
B-PAS requires a full semester commitment for any and all classes:
- 1st Semester August 18th, 2010 – December 22nd, 2010
- 2nd Semester January 3rd, 2011 – June 3rd, 2011
Family Registration Fee of $50 (non-refundable) is required for any new student. The registration fee helps subsidize administration and production costs. Only one registration fee per family, no matter the number of family members enrolled.
An equal important part of the learning process is performing, allowing the student to apply the learned techniques, which is why we offer year-round performance opportunities as part of our curriculum. We have designed a unique in-studio performance series, Cupcake Cabaret, which is produced three times per school year, in addition to our two main stage productions; Christmas and June. We do not produce “recitals,” we offer professional-level theatrical productions, encompassing all three of the performing arts; dance, voice and acting, including live instrumentation!
B-PAS charges production fees in addition to charging admission, ranging from $50 (Christmas performance) – $100 (Spring production) which pays for rental of the venue, light/sound operators and equipment, musicians, props and materials, i.e.: sheet music, music tracks, costume materials, shipping, and out-of-state sales order tax.
Other fees not included in the production fee: Costume rentals or purchases. At B-PAS we purchase and rent the finest costuming available, at affordable rates. Generally our rentals do not exceed $50 per costume, while others may only be $20 rental. Purchases are typically more expensive, however the student owns the costume. Taxes and shipping fees are included in the rates.
