Congratulations to Sophie Winnick!

Hats off to BPAS student Sophie Winnick for being accepted into Charleston County School of the Arts for 2010-11 as an Acting major! Sophie moved to Mt. Pleasant only last year and has studied acting, voice and dance at Broadway Performing Arts Studios for the past year and half. She is the daughter of Jeff and Sandy Winnick of Mount Pleasant.

We are very proud of you Sophie!

Students from Broadway Performing Arts Studios going to study in NYC!

Each summer School Director Kirk Sprinkles invites 12 -15 students to NYC for one week to study intensively at some of the finest schools in the world with some of the greatest instructors, choreographers, Broadway performers and casting directors in the business. This year will make his third annual trip! Students receive a crash course on the life of a professional dancer/singer/actor. “We do not sugar coat anything, we believe in teaching our students about the reality of the business.” The students take non-stop classes, see numerous Broadway shows and of course a bit of site seeing!

SUMMER MUSICAL THEATRE CAMP

Broadway Rocks!

Summer Musical Theatre Camp

July 5th – 23rd, Mon – Fri 12 PM – 3 PM daily

The camp is offered in two age groups for children between the ages of 8 – 17. This unique experience exposes children to the fascinating world of musical theatre with daily classes in acting, vocal performance and theatre dance, taught by Broadway performers! Camp ends with musical theatre production with 2 performance dates on July 23rd & 24th. Tickets will be sold to the general public.


Application submission begins: March 1st, 2010. Application must be completed along with student essay on “What Musical Theatre Means To Me…” and photo. Students will be selected based on their essay and application. Selected students will be notified by May 28th, 2010.
